Most employers are computer users. There are also opportunities with manufacturers, like IBM, ICL and Hewlett Packard and many smaller firms involved in communications, defence and electronics. Another group is the service agencies, who employ between a third and a half of all IT workers. The service industry includes consultancies supplying computer services, computer hire firms and software houses.
