VSJ – April 2003 – Members’ News

New IAP Office

As you may have noticed if you’ve visited the IAP Web site recently, we’ve moved to a new office. We’d run out of space at the Culmington Road premises partly because of expansion and partly because of the range of member services we now offer. The new address is Suite 307, Boundary House, Boston Road, Hanwell, London W7 2QU. We’re maintaining a presence at Culmington Road, so mail sent to that address will still arrive safely and the old telephone number has been redirected to the new office so, at least for the time being, there’s no need to revise your contact details. You can telephone directly on the new number, 020 8 434 3684.

Paul Lynham, FIAP is standing for re-election to the Council this year. Here, he presents his view of its future.

I am proud to be associated with The Institution of Analysts and Programmers. It promotes the best practices of members in our profession, including acquisition of skills, education and professionalism. It also provides a varied range of useful services and advice to very busy people. In recent years the Institution has been highly proactive in co-operating with varied organisations to ensure that education and training within our field is thorough and appropriate to the needs of industry. It also promotes its members’ interests and has seats on the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee. Its annual symposium focuses on new developments of interest to its members. The continued progress the Institution is making in these areas, and the quality it maintains, bring an even greater awareness of the benefits of IAP membership. I therefore welcome the opportunity to continue to help in these ventures and will endeavour to promote the Institution and the high standards it represents.
