Nvidia Unveils RTX Spark: A New AI Chip for Personal Computers

Bringing AI Power to the Desktop

Nvidia has announced its new RTX Spark chip, marking a significant expansion into the personal computer market. Unveiled at Computex 2026, the chip is designed specifically for AI-powered laptops and desktops, enabling users to run advanced artificial intelligence applications directly on their devices rather than relying heavily on cloud services.

The RTX Spark combines an Arm-based CPU with Nvidia’s latest Blackwell GPU architecture, creating a system capable of delivering up to one petaflop of performance. Nvidia says the chip is designed for AI developers, content creators, gamers, and professionals who need powerful local AI processing.

Designed for the AI Agent Era

According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, RTX Spark is intended to support a new generation of ‘software assistants’ capable of performing complex tasks autonomously. Nvidia describes these systems as moving computers from being simple tools to becoming intelligent teammates.

The platform supports up to 128GB of unified memory and is optimized for demanding workloads such as large language models, AI-assisted content creation, software development, and advanced gaming.

Industry Impact

Major PC manufacturers, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, MSI, and Microsoft, are expected to launch RTX Spark-powered systems later this year. The announcement positions Nvidia as a direct competitor to Intel, AMD, Apple, and Qualcomm in the AI PC market.

While initial devices are expected to target premium users, Nvidia’s long-term roadmap suggests broader adoption as AI becomes a standard feature in personal computing.
