This very interesting presentation, chaired by Alastair Revell (IAP Director General) and presented by John Ellis and Luc Poulin both Fellows of the IAP, was followed by a Q & A session. It was a brief overview of why standards matter, with an introduction to Trustworthy Software and how it went from an idea to becoming an international standard. The complexity of language, business culture and politics was also explored.
