1980s Computers.
Computers became common, affordable and accessible during the 1980s.
The distinction between business and home computers disappeared with IBM’s PC due to both typically using the same processor architectures, peripherals, operating systems, and applications, and having to write software programmes almost vanished from home computer use.
During the 1980s the innovation and development of the microchip meant computers had more features and were becoming faster. The two main competitors on the scene were Microsoft and Apple. Nintendo, LaserJet printers and Apple’s Macintosh were emerging during the 1980s too.
