IAP Student Membership
The IAP welcome student members. As a specialist professional body in the software development field, the IAP believe that well-designed software has a positive impact on industry, our communities and future. We feel it’s important to connect with academia in order to offer support to students who are studying for and planning a career in software and computer sciences. In order to raise awareness of the wealth of training excellence throughout the UK we are taking a closer look at several top universities and our series continues with the University of Lincoln.
Study Computing at Lincoln
Established in 1996, the beautiful and historic city of Lincoln is home to this diverse and internationally recognised university. With the aim of being in the top 40 UK institutions, their guide is a set of principles, which have been and remain at the heart of their approach: to achieve excellence in teaching, learning, and the student experience; to be responsiveness to the needs of communities and organisations and; to work in partnership to make great things happen.
Students wanting to persue a career in the computer sciences are spoilt for choice. Computer Science with Cloud Computing BSc (Hons), Mathematics and Theoretical Physics BSc (Hons), Physics with Astrophysics BSc (Hons), Computer Science with Cyber Security BSc (Hons) are just a few of the 24 undergraduate computing courses on offer, along with a number of postgraduate courses and apprenticeships.

University of Lincoln Secures Major EPSRC Award
As stated in their news blog, September 2025, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) have awarded the University of Lincoln a major and prestigious award for defence and security AI research. They are to lead a seven-university consortium advancing artificial intelligence in defence decision-making and wargaming.
