IAP Spring Seminar 2008: Advance Notice

This year’s very successful event on HMS Belfast proved a hard act to follow and midnight oil has been burning at the IAP offices. But we think we have come up with a formula that combines the best features of the Belfast programme with the more traditional style of our past meetings at Trinity House.

Next year’s Seminar will be held on Thursday 17 April in Covent Garden, one of the most interesting and trendy parts of London, at the brand new London Transport Museum (so new we can only show you an architect’s drawing). A morning of presentations will focus on transportation and navigation. At the time of writing details are still being finalised, but our principal speaker, David Broughton, of the Royal Institute of Navigation, will discuss ‘Sat Nav Trials and Tribulations’.

As usual, delegates will be able to linger over a late 3-course lunch with wine, to network with other members and discuss all the things that interest people in our profession. But before that there will be generous free time to explore the Museum, jump on a (historic) bus, and buy a tee-shirt or  present at the souvenir shop. After lunch there will still be time to explore the shops, cafés and street entertainment of this very interesting part of London.

Tickets are £50.00 for members, £80.00 for guests, including VAT. Space is limited so please send your cheques to the IAP office as soon as possible to be sure of a place.
